After traveling the world for a year, Amy learned how to maintain her love for the outdoors and managed to run, hike and race in over 10 countries. Combining traveling and running has been a driving force behind how she wants to live her life, claiming that it’s the best of both worlds. Being a runner for 10 years and having extensive travel experience, she learned how to plan for destination races and vacation-adventuring all around the world. She ran her first marathon in Vancouver, mentally broke down during a horrendous trail race in Colombia, ran a PR in Buenos Aires, walked with elephants in Chiang Mai, hiked the jungles of Malaysia and ventured to the top of Fushimi Inari-taisha in Japan. From 5ks to ultramarathons, you can always find her on the trails, and she wants to encourage women to flee their comfort zones to explore unknown places, test their limits, and build confidence in traveling and being comfortable in the outdoors.
Amy will be presenting Racing Internationally: How to Find Trail Races in Foreign Places at the 2019 International Women's Trail Summit and is excited to share ideas with you this year.
