Annie St. John
My undergraduate work covered anthropology of river and ocean based cultures, and my master’s degree is in environmental policy of rivers and oceans. I have run rivers for 20 years and guided on the Upper Colorado. I have sailed the open seas, taught open ocean sailing, and had many other nature adventures such as hiking, camping, and bike touring to name a few.
To add to the numerous trips with other people, I have run 100’s of miles of river solo, on short trips to week long expedition adventures through Canyonlands. I have backpacked 3 to 5 days solo, and solo bike toured through Spain.
I have studied and nature from biology to law, and experienced the wonder of our world through adventure. My business, Wild Brilliance, incorporates all of this in conservation, adventure and understanding of plants and wild animals.
Annie will be presenting Wild Brilliance - The Nature of River Running at the 2019 International Women's Trail Summit and is excited to share ideas with you this year.
